Love your post, just plain brilliant, nevertheless, your take on the woman and the shop attendant issue might be a little subjective esp with d transliteration of ‘y3 nt3m’ to be ‘smart’! He was being slow (I presume) and she plainly told him to be quick. Smart, here, could present a host of meanings, most of which might very much buttress a gender racist perspective to the scenario. If, perhaps, he was doing some work which demanded using energy, say lifting something a little heavy or do some running, you know, then I must say the woman is arguably vindicated; this much said in view of the fact that the male gender is more duely recognised to carryout more easily, energy intensive activities, and this is natural, proven scientifically by the roles testosterone and oestrogen play in our bodies. Any other meaning as mentioned earlier, let’s say smart being equaled to wit or intellect exhibited in carryingout whatever duty required of the attendant, leaves just that little room for defence! I agree with you totally on just how nauseating it is when you see that some, if not most, of the women used as sex symbols in all those videos have no idea of what they are being USED to do. What particularly grinds my gears is when it is so ‘glaringly blatant’ that u need not be a brain engineer or a rocket surgeon to figure it out. This is much more compounded by the seemingly endless rants by one too many women n even girls about how some guy used them and dumped them or broke their hearts or lied to them over and over again! You wonder, “for goodness graciousness’ sake, do you ever learn?” Christ! Things like these give some people almost nothing to hold on to; no reasonable doubt to even fancy but to conclude that, hey, maybe it’s natural afterall, and one can’t blame it all on society! Sad isn’t it?

I enjoyed every bit of your post. I guess the word feminism has endured a lot of abuse that I have become scared of it as a woman. I recently wrote about how I fear the words “strong woman” in my blog because undertone it conveys a lot of negative meanings. Like reading a woman say women should not breastfeed their baby sons because naturally they are stronger, I was amazed but I think the years of degrading women have gone through has brought about the rather unfortunate side of feminism. Am happy you wrote a balance post and I think with time people will realize most feminist don’t hate men.

Is a good read and i quite agree with most of the sentiments. Women most often unknowing give up their right to be treated as equals and be treated fairly by saying things like the lady said to d shop attendant.
